MANAGING DIRECTOR

As Chief Executive Officer, Dan Henderson is committed to MGI+MORE’s vision, purpose, and values. Dan is an advisory & accountancy expert with more than 15 years of experience supporting business owners across multiple industries in business growth and sustainability.

After completing his studies in Commerce and Sciences at the University of Otago, Dan went on to spend 10 years at one of the Big Four before jumping into business ownership in 2013.

Dan’s expertise sits comfortably in business strategy, leadership, governance, merger and acquisition, sale and valuation work, international company compliance and regulatory analysis, alongside a deep commercial and technical understanding of the SME, Residential and Commercial Property Market, and Construction Sectors. Dan has worked with every business size, from start-up to scale-up to the multi-national level.

Dan and his young, active family enjoy the outdoors and take any chance to head out on the water in summer and during winter, can be seen hitting the slopes around Queenstown and Wanaka.

Dan is passionate about supporting the correction of inequality among New Zealand’s most vulnerable young people and sits on the Board of Variety New Zealand, the children’s charity.

After two decades of accounting, tax, and business advice as a Director at KPMG, Hansa Patel has brought her wealth of knowledge to her clients in a caring and supportive way since 2015 in her capacity as a Director of MGI+MORE.

This high level of technical expertise brings a big four experience in an accessible and personalised manner to our growing and ambitious SME clients. After completing her Accounting technical qualifications, her experience was expanded with the opportunity to work overseas and locally with several commercial secondments. This has meant that Hansa has developed a rounded appreciation of the commercial environment.

Hansa gives back through the Women’s Mentoring Programme at the Auckland University Business School.

Hansa has a passion for retail, import/distribution, healthcare services and manufacturing during the week, and on the weekends can be found exploring Auckland with her friends and family, enjoying the variety of restaurants and entertainment the city offers.

As Director of MGI+MORE, Jill focuses on accounting procedures, troubleshooting, systems applications, taxation compliance and innovation. Her broad portfolio spans sole traders to large businesses and subsidiaries of foreign corporations.

Beginning her career in the volatile business environment of 1987, Jill has gained valuable experience in New Zealand, Australia and Japan — an experience she brings to the table to help each of her clients succeed. Jill’s understanding of taxation and accounting practices at home and abroad in an increasingly international economy is extremely valuable to MGI+MORE clients.

Jill’s particular interest lies in insurance, property and construction, and she has deep experience in tax planning, New Zealand and Australia cross-border taxation issues, trusts, business structures and GST, and other indirect tax compliance.

What motivates Man Yu is seeing her clients professionally and personally flourish. Man Yu brings an extremely high calibre of professional performance and an empathetic understanding of business ownership to the clients at MGI+MORE.

After her time in the Big Four with EY in senior tax roles, Man Yu has mixed commercial experience with practice experience over the past two decades. A Graduate of the University of Waikato, Man Yu moved from Hamilton to Auckland in 2004. She has bedded down her roots ever since with a keen involvement in the South Auckland and Franklin Districts business communities.

Man Yu and her husband own a renowned hospitality business in Pukekohe and, therefore, understand the daily realities of combining career, business, and family.

Man Yu provides clients with considered business planning and tax advice, regularly assisting their growth strategies regarding expansion planning, systems integration, and critical performance monitoring. Her industry specialisation covers a wide range from hospitality and retail to import and distribution, tech start-ups, light manufacturing, food and packaging, and e-commerce.

As Associate Director of MGI+MORE, Amy enjoys working closely with her clients to help them overcome their challenges as business owners.

Amy graduated from the University of Otago in Accounting and Economics in 2002 and since then has gained top-tier business advisory experience through her time in multi-national accounting firms like Deloitte and BDO and a practical blend of private sector experience. This combined experience gives advice and coaching that business owners can translate immediately to results.
Amy now leverages this specialist knowledge to provide simple, actionable accounting and business planning advice to MGI +MORE’s key clients.

Amy has significant experience in providing ambitious business owners support to scale their ideas into reality. Her industry knowledge spans retail & hospitality, technology, real estate services, engineering and manufacturing, professional services and tourism, construction and the trades.

At the weekends, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, following her two girls’ sporting activities, and playing club hockey herself.

As an Associate Director of MGI+MORE, Paul excels in cultivating successful partnerships with our internal staff and external clients, driving positive change and enabling the achievement of their goals.

With over 20 years of experience in public practice, Paul’s journey began by working alongside his father in a sole practitioner business while pursuing his university degree. After graduating with a major in operations management and accountancy, his father sold his practice to another prominent West Auckland accountancy firm, where Paul continued to grow professionally for 17 years, building many relationships and advancing his career.

Now at MGI+MORE, Paul thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, embracing progressive challenges.

Paul is a passionate football enthusiast outside work, although his active playing days have ended. Nowadays, he enjoys watching football and spending time with his young family. Paul also appreciates a good craft beer and tries to sample anything he hasn’t tried before!

CONSULTANT

As Director of MGI+MORE, Nick is keen to meet the demands and opportunities of new millennium business and investment. Nick works with a diverse portfolio of clients, spanning construction, import/export, manufacturing, professional services and motor vehicle retail. Nick’s clients also benefit from his wealth of trusts and estate planning expertise.

Nick brings a global mindset to his clients’ business challenges. After beginning his career in Auckland, he travelled to Europe and gained corporate experience as a Financial Controller with a large London-based company. Returning to Auckland, he set up his practice and joined the MGI network in 1995.

Beyond his day-to-day role, Nick spent five years as the Australasian representative on the International Committee of MGI.

SENIOR MANAGER

Megan helps businesses facing challenges with business processes, cash flow, and understanding management accounts. Her passion lies in working closely with clients to identify their pain points and find effective solutions, enabling them to concentrate on the aspects of their business they genuinely enjoy.

With prior experience in Financial Services in the UK and the import/distribution/retail sector in New Zealand, Megan has a broad range of expertise to support clients with internal processes and finance functions as if she were an in-house team member.

Outside of work, Megan is an outdoor enthusiast and mum of two.

Cathrina brings a wealth of experience to our team and her clients. With over 15 years of experience spanning various industries, Cathrina’s insights are driven by years of hands-on experience and a deep understanding of compliance accounting, strategic tax planning, business ownership and structuring, and comprehensive systems and business advice.

Outside of work, Cathrina embraces the Kiwi outdoor lifestyle. She often enjoys quality moments with family and friends, embarking on walks, or booking her next camping adventure.

MANAGER

Natalie prepares management reports as well as GST and tax returns. She also provides payroll processing advice and works with clients to ensure their accounts administration processes work effectively and efficiently.

What she enjoys most about her role is working with clients to find solutions and implementing systems that improve their operational effectiveness.

Natalie is working towards her Chartered Accountant qualification currently. When she’s not studying, her teenage daughters keep her busy, and she enjoys catching up with friends and family and tries to travel to Northland at least once a month to spend a weekend with her family based up there.

Adrienne prepares financial statements, tax returns, and monthly management accounts for a wide range of clients.

What she enjoys most about her role is the interactions with her clients and being able to contribute to their success.

Outside work, Adrienne loves travelling to new places and spending time with her family, whether watching football from the sidelines, walking in the park together, or playing board games.

Anna oversees the human resources function across the +MORE Group. She is responsible for recruiting, developing, and retaining talent and ensuring that our teams embody our company values and purpose daily.

Anna enjoys getting to know every team member and working with them and their manager to help them achieve their career goals. Seeing employees succeed is what motivates her!

Outside work, Anna loves spending time with her family. She has two teenage boys who love to get out and about – from multi-day bike rides in different parts of the country to catching the latest movie to board games on rainy days.

MARKETING MANAGER

Claire manages our marketing activities across the +MORE Group. She is responsible for our brand across New Zealand and fuels our social media pages, website, content, communications, and client events.

What Claire enjoys most about her role is the opportunity to educate NZ business owners on how +MORE services can support them to grow their capability and achieve their version of success, whatever success looks like to them.

Outside the marketing world, Claire loves going for walks with a coffee in hand, socialising with friends, trying new food spots, and heading away for the weekends to explore NZ and abroad.
